2025 is Here and We Are Ready! The Thurman Perry Foundation January Newsletter
Happy New Year!
We Love You & We’re Grateful for You.
As we step into this new year, we want to take a moment to say Happy New Year! The Thurman Perry Foundation loves you, and we are profoundly grateful for your continued support of our mission to support women and girls nationwide, particularly those who are the most vulnerable amongst us.
We know this new year has already brought its share of challenges—from the deep divisions and bigotry we’ve witnessed surrounding the inauguration of President Trump and his campaign of hate and violence, to the heartbreaking wildfires in Los Angeles—for which we were able to be present for up close—and the devastating plane crash that has left so many grieving. These events remind us how fragile life can be and how much we need each other.
But in the face of all this, hope remains. Love still wins. Kindness still matters. And community is still our greatest strength. Anger is normal. I am learning that. Anger means we are processing our emotions. But anger cannot stay in the body. Or it will kill us. It is the poison that bigots make us all drink. Even in times of uncertainty and pain, we can stand together, uplift one another, and refuse to let darkness have the final word. Everyone can’t do everything but everyone can do something.

We could not do what we do without you!
As we move forward, know that you are not alone. We see you, we appreciate you, and we are committed—now more than ever—to the work of justice, healing, and love. The Thurman Perry Foundation will continue to help women and girls impacted by incarceration in 2025 and beyond.
Let’s continue to fight for a better world, together.
With love and gratitude,
Sincerely,
Gabrielle A. Perry, MPH
