Thank You For A Fantastic 2023! The Thurman Perry Foundation December Newsletter

Wow WHAT A YEAR! The Thurman Perry Foundation would like to thank you, our community, for an AMAZING 2023! This year saw us award our largest class of PSCS scholars, 21 phenomenal women, with $42,000, as well as the first summer scholarship in conjunction with Trace of Hope! Girl Code became an award winning initiative, winning the 2023 STAR Champions of Change award, and expanded to the big apple with 10,000 products donated to the Bedford Hills Correctional Institute for Women. Overall, the program reached a new height of crossing 200,000 products donated.

A huge thanks to Aunt Flow, our organic menstrual product manufacturer, for naming us their 8th signature partner this year and providing us with 60,000 products that were distributed to our facility partners in Louisiana and New York. And a VERY special thank you to our Organization of the Year: One In An ARMY and the BTS ARMY worldwide! They were the largest peer to peer fundraising team we’ve had in TPF’s HISTORY and it is with their hard work that we will cross $100,000 in scholarships given next year in 2024.

Read on to see our year in review and catch up with what we did this month:

We could not do what we do without you!

It feels like this year flew by and in all the hustle to make a difference, sometimes we don’t notice all that we manage to achieve in our fight to create an equitable world for the women and girls impacted by incarceration. As we take today to look back, it brings tears to our eyes to see how much we got done, and how strong the support we have to keep going is.

With your help, whether that was through fundraising, donating, sharing our social media posts, telling your loved ones, or utilizing our corporate matching, we raised $150,000 this year! Between our 3 programs, we managed to help over 5,000 women & girls impacted by incarceration so far, which brings us halfway to our mission of helping 10,000 women & girls by 2030. We can’t thank you enough for how much support you’ve given us this year and every year. We couldn’t have dreamed to achieve what we have so far and we know it’s because of you! We hope that you have a happy new year and that next year is filled with all the joy and blessings that you deserve! See you in 2024!

Sincerely,

Gabrielle A. Perry, MPH
